The Walking Neighbourhood

Remember when kids roamed the neighbourhood? Take a tour devised and led by children, and rediscover what it was like to wander the streets until dinner time.

Starting at a special kid-designed Departure Lounge, you’ll head out into the inner city to see the world through the eyes of our young tour guides.

Lenine Bourke has collaborated on artistic projects with diverse communities and young people for 15 years. She developed The Walking Neighbourhood with the support of Contact Inc (Brisbane) and Mammalian Diving Reflex (Toronto).

The Walking Neighbourhood has seen kids lead tours in Fortitude Valley Brisbane; the Bagot community, Darwin; Chiang Mai, Thailand; Seoul, Korea; and Anti Festival in Kuopio, Finland.

Artistic Team: Lenine Bourke (Creative Advisor & Original Concept), Karen Batten, Claire Christian, Billy McPherson, Matt Prest. Producer:  Intimate Spectacle
