“I see this work as a portal into a more positive and energised future post-pandemic.” – Will Cooke, artist
As One Door Closes, Another Opens is a progressive shift towards a positive future through colour and geometry.
The mural draws on the simplest of utilitarian objects – the common door. Not just any door though: this work is inspired by the progressive designs of modernist architect Jean Prouve (France, 1901-1984).
The mural comprises of 2 doors, painted in swathes of saturated colour opening and closing in geometric perpetuity.
Will Cooke is a Sydney-based artist who creates illusion-based paintings that revel in the histories of industrial design, meditation, architecture and personal development.
