Art & About Sydney is taking performances out of our theatres and clubs, and putting them into a shipping container with a twist. From a workshop space one day to a venue the next, you have something completely Out of the Box.

Screaming Bikini is an Australian led collaborative with Sarah McLeod at the helm, showcasing Sarah’s work from the past four years. It’s an addictive batch of tunes that spans genres and musical tastes.

To celebrate the Art Gallery of New South Wales current exhibition The Mad Square, cabaret stars Dick & Christa Hughes present a special cabaret performance outside the Gallery.

Partying like it’s 1929, this father – daughter duo showcase jazz, blues and vaudeville – old and new.

Dick’s hard-hitting, no-nonsense, ivory-crunching piano style combined with Christa’s extraordinary vocal prowess and presence provide all the ingredients for a highly entertaining afternoon. They don’t just sing and play the blues – they are the blues.

Deliciously eccentric and boldly unexpected, Johnny and Liesel from Loose Canon Arts are the hosts for Out of the Box for Kids and will take families on fantastic adventure off the beaten track of children’s entertainment.

Brett Campbell

12pm, 1pm, & 2pm

Brett Campbell brings his quirky, multi instrumental, LIVE show to Art & About’s Out of The Box. With popular songs like ‘Scary Monster’ and ‘Honk The Chicken’, bring your dancing shoes for a high energy romp through his very cool songbook.

Play-Doh Workshop

Using Play-Doh, children of all ages can design and create the sculptures they would like to see in our CBD and surrounding villages.

S.E.A.T Exhibition

11.30am – 2.30pm

The S.E. A.T Exhibition raises funds for Indigenous literacy, and encourages community engagement. The exhibition is a social initiative that educates children in social values and sustainability.
